10 Rillington Place (1971)
dir: Richard Fleischer
The story of John Christie, who raped and killed at least six women, usually when pretending to offer backstreet abortions. He also succeeded in framing lodger Timothy Evans, an illiterate compulsive liar, for the murder of his wife Beryl and daughter Geraldine. Evans was hanged in 1950 and it wasn't until 1953 that he was brought to justice, with Evans receiving a posthumous pardon only in 2004.
