Nicholas Cage is Ben, a successful screenwriter whose addiction to alcohol has lost him his wife and family. When he also loses his job, it is the point of no return. He packs up and heads to Sin City, a.k.a. Las Vegas so that he can drink himself to death in peace. Once there, he meets Sera, a high-class prostitute, ...

Miłość w stanie czystym (to nic, że w brudzie). Wielkie.
Równie zwykła, co niezwykła historia miłości dwojga, jak to się ładnie mówi, "życiowych rozbitków". Pomimo że temat bardzo temu sprzyjał, udało się uniknąć taniego melodramatyzmu i stworzyć kameralny, nienachalny obraz. Role życia zagrali Cage i Shue, na uwagę zasługuje też muzyka, świetnie ilustrująca to, co dzieje się na ekranie. Sam problem alkoholizmu pokazany jest tu mimo wszystko trochę zbyt estetycznie, ale też nie wyobrażam sobie tego filmu zrobionego inaczej. Piękne kino, po prostu.
Najlepsza rola Cage`a jaką widziałem. Świetne zdjęcia wielkiej metropolii.
