Series and localization
|
TV series will not be part of Filmaster. At least for now we're focusing on movies. If someone would like to take our code and create a sibling service for TV series, we're be happy to cooperate though. Drop us a note! And regarding localization, yes, we'll provide some interface for easy localizing soon. The idea is that we do not simply translate the interface of Filmaster.com but rather create a separate localized version of the whole webiste. We currently have two versions: |

Michuk, I think it is a very bad idea not to support TV series as a part of Filmaster. I believe that lots and lots of people would like to have this feature, and that you will lose lots of users if you do not integrate that. I don't find it a troublesome feature... You could just import series descriptions like they are movies, and put that in the database along with movies. TV series are kind of a 'standard' nowadays and I don't think you can separate movies and series just like that. Whilst other sites have series, you do not, and it is just normal for people to go where they have everything they want, and where they feel satisfied... It would be a shame for a great website such as this to not make it because of not having TV series in their database... I think you should seriously reconsider your decision... Good luck |

There are a few issues with series: In general we have a lot of tasks concerning films and adding series reasonably would require more additional work which we don't have the resources for. If someone wants to just work on those and make them integrate nicely with Filmaster -- we won't have anything against adding them. But we would not like it to cause any kind of mess. Filmaster is mostly about films. |

On the addition of the series. Maybe Filmaster could do as MyTVShows and use http://thetvdb.com to import information. |
