The Social Network (2010)

Don't deny it, on announcement we all scorned and sniggered at the very prospect of a movie about Facebook. The social networking juggernaut that has set the precedent for all social networking sites

The main problem I have with these types of films, Harry Brown being another recent addition, is that they are seen as some sort of social commentary, sometimes by the filmmakers own intention. In actual fact they can't be any further removed from reality. Sure there are people like the characters depicted in these movies in the real world, but they are a minority. I live near Nottingham, which the UK tabloids would have you believe is more dangerous than taking a walk down the Gaza Strip, and

The Hurt Locker. W pułapce wojny (2008)

Best Picture winner, and unless you've been submerged under an ocean of apocalyptic / post apocalyptic films over the last 8 - 12 months (which wouldn't be surprising given the number of recent releases
I Love You, Man (2009)

I admit it, I'm a fan of the 'bromance' genre. This film is a worthy adition to the genre. Paul Rudd plays these characters extremely well. Some reviewers say he isn't good enough to lead a movie, I disagree.

Know1ng (2009)

I have enjoyed all of Alex Proyas' films, and Dark City is one of my favourites, so I had pretty high hopes for this film, especially in a time where nobody seems to get sci-fi right anymore. At least in Holywood. The concept is good, and it avoids being cheesy which Nicholas Cage's appearences usually bring. An enjoyable film, earns a respectable 5 from me. No sci-fi masterpiece. I'm depending on District 9 for that. Was very similar to an episode of the outer limites I once watched.

Angels & Demons (2009)

I thought this one would work better as a film than The Da Vinci Code. It does, slightly. Fortunatly the movie cut some of the twists from the book, that in my opinion are predictable, however the movie still suffers from the unbearable length of the plot. Scene in the fountain was good though.

Drag Me to Hell (2009)

The perfect ratio of humour and horror. But no Evil Dead or Bubba Ho-Tep!

NEW FEATURE: film watching logs

I love to keep a log of the films I have watched year on year. I would love it if you could include a film log section in the dashboard/profile, where I can add what I watched, when I watched it, rate it, and specify if it was a rewatch.
