I'm not an Angelopoulos fan at all, however being Greek and from a leftist background I was deeply moved by this film. I know it's profoundly long but then again it's an accurate portrayal of the entire greek postwar history. This film is a great history lesson, although it can indeed be somewhat exhausting.
